CrepjunkieTV recently caught up with lifestyle photographer, DJ and all round sneaker Don Magdi Fernandes to talk about how he started his first sneaker store with a single penny!. The former London Tower player’s story is an inspiring journey, that saw him take his passion for kicks from a car boot sale, to a wall in Major Flavas, to his landmark store on Beak Street and Marlborough Court. The Slammin’ Kicks store was one of London’s most popular and established independent sneaker spots back in the day, right up until it closed its doors in late 2007. While he still makes a lot of moves behind the scenes, you can currently catch him alongside Capital Xtra’s DJ Manny Norte on their new Complex show, Sole Connection.
